The Geospatial Service Center’s project

It is an innovative and unique project, which aims to implement the road map set by the GIS Center​, in cooperation with a British International Agency (Ordnance Survey) towards raising the efficiency and the geospatial awareness capabilities in the center, to meet the needs of the strategic partners at the highest global standards. This is accomplished by implementing specialized joint initiatives between the GISC’s team and the company carrying out the project in a three-year period. Among the most important specialized initiatives that are implemented in the first phases of the project which​​ are Stakeholder Engagement, Data Management Standards, the remote sensing support, Automated Data Production Processes, quality management, Data Custodianship Model and the Geospatial Accreditation in the Emirate through the center. The project is designed to establish a long-term operational center that provides customized consultancy services upon request, at the level of senior specialist consultants for the company implementing the project. In addition, this project intend to develop the geospatial services management, to unify operations and geospatial services towards the best national, regional and international practices, as well as to promote the geospatial awareness in Dubai’s Emirate and to link the center’s data to international geospatial data management standards, supporting the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. ​
