Dubai Municipality, represented by the GIS Center, has been shortlisted for the Construction Technology Awards under the “Construction Technology Leader of the Year" category. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, during the 3rd Construction Technology Festival conference in Dubai. The award website stated that Eng. Maryam Obaid Al Muhairi, Director of the GIS Center, who is nominated for the award, is a member of the Dubai Building Permit Development Committee, which was formed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. This was created to increase customer satisfaction by providing excellent services in construction permitting and to increase Dubai’s ranking in the international competitiveness indicators. Maryam also participated in forming a working group to lead digital transformation in the construction sector in Dubai. Her efforts also led to the establishment of the UAE’s local chapter of the BuildingSMART BIM organisation
